Art in Hand: The World of Artist Trading Cards
The Historic Smithville Mansion Annex Art Gallery will display the emerging art media of Artist Trading Cards from local, national, and international participants in April 2009.
Anyone can enter from professional artists and designers to those just beginning their artistic journey. The exhibit will be curated to determine placement; however all entries will be included in the show. Cards will be swapped out at the end of the exhibit to the participants. You will receive as many cards as you send.
Open Media: collage, photography, painting, drawing, printing, etc.
There will be four different submission categories:
1. Original paintings, mixed media, collage, hand-pulled prints and drawings
2. Photographs
3. Digital Art
4. Digital Prints of original artwork (i.e. paintings, drawings, etc.)
Cards will be swapped within their category.
Format & Size: Standard Artist Trading Card – 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches
To Enter: Send in 3, 6, 9 or 18 Artist Trading Cards There is no submission fee. Please include a SASE with sufficient postage for your card trade returns at the end of the exhibit. International returns do not need to send postage. Please send one extra card to be used in a scheduled public workshop and trading session.

Entries must be postmarked by March 14, 2009
Exhibit Dates: April 4 -25, 2009
Documentation: All received works will be exhibited and the artists listed on the website
www.burlcoarts.com. We will send photographs of the exhibit and copies of any press coverage of the exhibition to the participants. At the exhibit there will be a world map indicating the home countries and cities of the artists.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
Best Painting $100
Best Drawing $100
Best Mixed Media $100
Best Photograph $100
Best Abstract $100
Best Representational $100
Best Surreal $100
Peoples Choice $100
